Sight: This wine's cherry red colour reveals its youth and fruitiness. Its aspect is clean and appears to be glyceric.

Nose: The wine's intense bouquet reveals the best dark fruit marked by impeccable wood aromas. Hints of fallen leaves and certain spices such as vanilla.

Taste: Starts off smoothly upon entry into the mouth to later become lush with abundant ripe tannins and an excelent balance between its acisity and alcohol content. Flavours from the barrel do not overwhelm the fruit. Refined, long-lasting and elegent retronasal effect.

Wine Advocate The 2004 Tinto Pesquera (Crianza), from a great vintage, is opaque purple with a fragrant nose of lead pencil, earth, black currants, and blackberry liqueur that jumps from the glass. This is followed by a sexy wine with layered blue and black fruits intertwined with ripe tannins and good acidity. This superb, beautifully balanced effort should evolve for 4-6 years and drink well for another 10-15. Score: 93. —Jay Miller, February 2007.
