Massena The Moonlight Run 2005
Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins met on the midnight shift during Clare Valley’s 1999 vintage. Moonlight Run, their initial wine, derives its name from their nightly drive to and from the Barossa. On the drive home, they would share their ideas about the perfect wine to wash down a hard night’s work. Out of this ideal, Moonlight Run and further collaboration was born. Wine Spectator Velvety in texture and open and complex in flavor, this is a riot of cherry, blueberry, bay leaf and peppery spice flavors that sail over the palate and linger effectively. Picks up a distinct mineral note. Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2014. 500 cases made. Score: 92. —Harvey Steiman, 2007. |
