Vineyard 29 Cru Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Opening with ripe dark fruit this wine gives way to toasty vanilla and creamy caramel notes. On the palate ripe raspberries, cassis, roasted coffee and dried flowers are blended with plenty of earth and spice. The intense structure of this wine is surrounded by round, lively tannins giving it a lush and supple mouth feel with a core to stand up to 10-15 years in the cellar. Wine Advocate The 2005 Cru is a gorgeous wine, a seductive style of Cabernet with outstanding ripeness, purity, soft tannins, and an expansive texture. With loads of black currant and tobacco leaf notes intermixed with a subtle touch of wood, this is a beauty to drink over the next 10-12 years. Score: 92. —Robert Parker, December 2007.Wine Spectator Well-crafted, tight and structured, with focused currant, mineral, sage and dried berry fruit that's intense and concentrated, with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2013. 2,943 cases made. Score: 90. —James Laube, February 29, 2008. |
