Clos Martinet Priorat 2004
The estate’s flagship wine, the Clos Martinet shows a dark ruby/purple color and dark fruit aromas together with graphite and espresso. Both the nose and the palate are exquisitely complex and satisfying. Wine Advocate The 2004 Clos Martinet is not as dense as its older sibling but it offers more aromatic complexity (a characteristic of 2004 in the Catalan region) and cuts a broader swath across the palate. It is a rich, plushly textured, full-flavored wine that merits 2-4 years of additional bottle age after which it should drink well for at least 15 years. Score: 94. —Jay Miller, February 2007. |
