Rochioli Chardonnay 2006
This wine is a blend from our Estate Chardonnay vineyards. The blend consists of sixty-six percent Mid 40, twenty-two percent River Block, and twelve percent South River Vineyard. It is a fine example of the unique characters from our property and the Russian River Valley. Aromas of ripe apple, tropical fruit, vanilla and a touch of spice combine with the rich apple flavors and crisp acidity. Although young now, those with the patience to cellar this wine will be rewarded. 2150 cases were produced. International Wine Cellar Light, bright gold. Fresh tangerine and spiced apple on the nose, with a smoky, leesy quality adding depth. Expansive orchard and citrus fruit flavors offer good palate-staining concentration as well as focus. Finishes with admirable lift and cut, with the citrus qualities echoing. Score: 90. —Josh Raynolds, May 2008. |
