Elio Altare Dolcetto d'Alba 2006
Purple red in color, this Dolcetto has an intense nose with fruity aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and blueberry. It is dry and soft on the palate, rich and pleasant in the mouth, with austere tannins and a clean, pleasant finish. Suitable for every meal, this wonderfully easy drinking wine would pair particularly well with white meats and pasta dishes. Wine Advocate The 2006 Dolcetto d-Alba is a full-bodied wine packed with jammy dark blueberries, licorice and tar. It offers notable length as well as finesse, with a characteristic bitterish note on the finish. This is an excellent, well-balanced effort in a vintage which has produced unusually ripe, concentrated Dolcettos. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2009. Score: 89. —Antonio Galloni, October 2007. |
