Nose: Fine, ethereal, fruity and spicy notes, tobacco, licorice.

Flavour: Warm, rich, very soft, ripe and sweet tannins, well balanced, quite fresh.

Serving suggestions: Roasted red meats, game.

Wine Advocate The estate’s 2004 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is made in a slightly sweeter, but more linear, style than the Margheria. It reveals a concentrated expression of the hallmark qualities of this Castiglione Falletto vineyard in its perfumed aromatics, ripe red cherries, menthol and baking spices. With air the wine turns more muscular as it gains volume and depth in the glass. This is a beautiful and refined Bricco Fiasco from proprietor Luigi Scavino. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. Wine Spectator Shows a beautiful, rich ruby red color, with complex aromas of blackberry, sultana and violet. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and lots of ripe fruit. Has a lovely texture. Closed, but there's lots in reserve. Best after 2011. Score: 93. —James Suckling, June 15, 2008.
