Impressive deep red / purple colour. Lush blackberry and spicy fruitcake aromas. Dense tannins and intense fruit provide a rich, supple, almost thick texture. Needs time to show hidden complexity. Long finish. Probably best between 2006 and 2015. Ideal with rich, roasted or grilled red meat dishes. more
Vibrant ruby red colour. Cedar, anise and fleshy fruit on the nose. Medium bodied palate, but good length and structure carrying to a long finish. Blackberry fruit and supple tannins. more
Final blend:Syrah 65 %, Mourvèdre 32 %, Viognier 3 %
Both the Syrah and Mourvèdre component come from a Malmesbury vineyard with the Viognier sourced on Boekenhoutskloof. The reds were fermented using selected Rhone strain yeasts. French oak matured with Viognier blended prior to bottling. Egg white fined.
